About Alex
As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 13 years of experience, I help individuals reconnect with themselves and find clarity, peace, and self-understanding.
Healing happens when we let go of who we thought we had to be in order to feel accepted, loved, or enough. Therapy is a space to slow down, listen inward, and rediscover the parts of yourself that have been buried beneath stress, expectations, or survival.
The idea of “finding yourself” may seem overwhelming. Here’s the thing: you don’t need to have everything figured out before you start. After all, healing isn’t about becoming someone new; it’s about coming home to yourself, one step at a time.
My role is creating a space where you feel seen, supported, and understood as we navigate that process together. Unfortunately, we can’t just make life’s challenges disappear. But together we will build the resilience, self-trust, and connection to help you stay grounded and find meaning while you manage them.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process rooted in curiosity, self-understanding, and compassion. Together, we prioritize time to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been overlooked, protected, or pushed aside.
My approach, guided by years of clinical experience, is also deeply personal and human. We’ll create a relationship in which you feel safe enough to explore yourself honestly and openly. From there, the insights we’ll uncover will bring healing, clarity, and self-compassion.
Together, we’ll note the patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses that shape how you move through the world. Often, the ways we protect ourselves today were developed long ago for very good reasons, but are no longer serving us.
In practice, this can look like understanding why certain relationships feel difficult, why you become stuck in cycles of anxiety or self-criticism, or why you react in ways that feel hard to control. Rather than judging those responses, we work to understand them with compassion and find real ways to make changes that serve your highest good.
Many people spend years disconnected from their own needs, emotions, or inner voice. Therapy is where we can pause, breath, and gently rebuild that connection.
This might mean learning to recognize what your body is telling you, creating a pause to consciously decide how to respond rather than reacting, setting healthier boundaries, or developing greater trust in yourself and your decisions.
Insight alone is not enough. Healing also involves practicing new ways of responding to yourself and the world around you. Together, we work to create patterns that feel more grounded, intentional, and aligned with who you truly are.
This often means developing tools to navigate anxiety, manage overwhelming emotions, communicate more openly, and move through life with greater self-awareness.
Therapy with me feels warm, engaged, and collaborative. I will offer reflections, clarifying questions, necessary challenges, and honest observations while helping you feel supported and understood. My hope is that our work together helps you feel more connected to yourself, more resilient in the face of adversity, and less alone in what you carry.
I have more than 13 years of experience across diverse mental health settings, including crisis response units, university counseling environments, and work with children and families. All this has deepened my understanding of the many ways people learn to cope, adapt, and carry difficult experiences through different stages of life.
In recent years, my work has focused primarily on supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, identity shifts, relationship challenges, and the emotional adjustments that can come with welcoming a child into the family. My approach is conversational, person-centered, compassionate and sometimes casual, with a focus on helping people better understand themselves and move through life with greater clarity and self-trust.
I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on each person's needs, including person-centered therapy, existential therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based practices, and personal spirituality. I believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and I strive to create an approach that feels supportive, meaningful, and aligned with who you are.
Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time with my family, reading, traveling, and petting every dog that will let me. I take my one cup of coffee a day very seriously, and I'm fairly confident I have the world’s top running playlist — especially if you appreciate 90s hip hop.
